Modern Filling Procedures for Natural-Looking Teeth
Have you just found out that you have a cavity? At Gentle Dental, our dentist will remove the decayed portion of your tooth and fill it with another substance. We have multiple options for the material to be used in the fillings, with the most common being composite fillings and amalgam fillings.
Using a Composite Filling
• Decayed tooth (i.e. cavity)

Composite fillings can be closely matched to the color of your teeth. They provide good durability for small to medium cavities.
Understanding How the Filling Process Is Done
Once the dentist numbs the area where the filling is to be placed, the dentist will remove any decayed portions. A substance is then applied to help open the pores of your teeth for a stronger bond. Once complete, the filling is applied in thin layers to slowly form the complete filling. The filling will then be smoothened and polished to fit your bite.
